ADVISING FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYERS

Criminal offences

Handling of employees’ criminal offence in relation to employment law can in practice be difficult. If the alleged criminal offence has been committed in the workplace, that in itself raises questions and considerations in relation to police involvement. On top of this comes the specific assessment of whether or not there may be taken actions based on employment law prior to completion of the criminal case.

Damkjær Lauritzen we advise on the various options that the public employers have, when it appears that an employee has committed, or is under the suspicion of having committed, a criminal offence in or outside service.

Lene Damkjær Christensen has published an article on the subject posted in Juristen, no. 2, Mai 2018.
